Prepare your Egyptian Shopify brand for discovery on Mahali

A practical eligibility and catalog checklist for Egyptian Shopify brands preparing a Mahali discovery inquiry, without promises of approval or results.

1. Prepare evidence of brand identity and eligibility

Mahali focuses on Egyptian-owned local brands. Before sending an inquiry, gather credible public evidence of Egyptian founding or ownership and links to the official brand website and profiles. A .eg domain, EGP prices, or an Egyptian shipping address alone does not establish ownership.

The normal eligibility standard is a standalone brand rather than a reseller or multi-brand marketplace. Some documented exceptions have been explicitly approved, but an exception for another merchant is not automatic eligibility for yours. Explain your business model accurately so the review can address it directly.

2. Make the Shopify storefront and catalog reviewable

The current integration uses Shopify's catalog and checkout capabilities. The review needs a stable Shopify store identity, catalog results restricted to your store, delivery to Egypt, and an active checkout in EGP unless an exception is explicitly approved. A Shopify storefront by itself does not guarantee that the required catalog and checkout behavior is available.

Check that your public product pages accurately describe the items and that selectable variants have useful names, current availability, and appropriate imagery. Include clear sizing or dimensions, materials where relevant, included quantities, and care instructions. Complete product information helps shoppers compare without making unsupported assumptions.

  • Provide the official storefront URL and public brand-identity evidence.
  • Check that your store is accessible and intended products can be delivered to Egypt.
  • Verify checkout currency and review product options, availability, and descriptions.
  • Keep delivery, returns, exchanges, and contact information easy to find.

3. Prepare official brand assets and category context

Have an official navigation icon, a storefront-header wordmark, and suitable brand-owned imagery available for review. Identify the official source and any usage restrictions; do not send third-party marketplace artwork as if your brand owns it. Mahali reviews and localizes approved presentation assets rather than relying on arbitrary external image URLs.

Suggest the categories in which shoppers would reasonably expect to find your products. Mahali uses explicit store memberships, and a brand can belong to more than one group. Describe the catalog you actually sell, including any mixed-vendor inventory, rather than choosing unrelated categories for exposure.

4. Send an inquiry, not credentials

Use the For brands page to start the review with your official store link, relevant context, and an appropriate business contact. Do not send Shopify administrator passwords, private API tokens, payment information, or shopper data. Keep sensitive business documents out of an initial inquiry unless a secure, authorized review process asks for them.

An inquiry is not an approval, publication commitment, paid placement, or promise of traffic or sales. Mahali must review eligibility, catalog behavior, category assignments, and approved assets before an active record is exposed to shoppers. Plan your own launch schedule independently of the review.

5. Keep merchant responsibilities clear after discovery

Your brand remains the merchant of record and handles payment, fulfillment, delivery, returns, and customer support. Keep product information and checkout policies current at their source. If your storefront identity or availability changes, communicate that through the brand contact process rather than assuming an old discovery listing proves the store is still operational.
