Using Mahali
Terms of Use
These Terms govern your access to Mahali's website, account features, product discovery tools, and links to independent merchants.
Effective date: 7 September 2026
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Mahali, an Egyptian company with an address at 83A Wadi El Nakheel, Giza, Egypt. By accessing or using Mahali, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Mahali.
2. What Mahali provides
Mahali is a shopping discovery and comparison service for selected Egyptian local brands. It lets users search and browse products, review available product information, save items, maintain a cross-brand cart for convenience, and follow links to merchants.
Mahali is not a marketplace, seller, merchant of record, payment processor, lender, delivery provider, warehouse, manufacturer, warranty provider, or returns operator. Mahali does not own the listed inventory. Each merchant remains solely responsible for its products, prices, stock, checkout, payment collection, order acceptance, delivery, taxes, warranties, exchanges, refunds, returns, customer service, and legal compliance.
3. Eligibility and accounts
Mahali may be browsed by people of all ages. You may create and use a Mahali account directly if you are aged 15 or older. If you are under 15, your parent or legal guardian must authorize and supervise your account and accepts these Terms on your behalf. A parent or guardian is responsible for a child's use of Mahali and for deciding whether products and merchant sites are appropriate for that child.
Google sign-in is currently required for account features. You must provide accurate information, keep access to your Google account secure, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account except to the extent caused by Mahali.
4. Product discovery and information
Product names, descriptions, images, variants, ratings, prices, discounts, availability, delivery eligibility, and other information may come from Shopify, merchants, public storefront feeds, or automated catalog systems. Search results, inferred attributes, recommendations, category assignments, and estimated result counts are discovery aids and may be incomplete, delayed, grouped, inaccurate, or unavailable.
A brand's inclusion reflects Mahali's curation and public-source review, not formal legal due diligence, certification, endorsement, or a guarantee that every item was made in Egypt. Always verify material information on the merchant's site before ordering. The price, currency, stock status, variant, delivery terms, and policies displayed by the merchant at checkout control the transaction.
5. Cart and merchant checkout
The Mahali cart is an organizational tool. Products from different brands do not form one combined order. Each merchant group must be checked out separately, and opening checkout transfers you to that merchant's storefront.
For signed-in users, Mahali may add your email and first and last name to a supported merchant checkout link when you choose to proceed. The merchant then processes that information and any order data under its own terms and privacy policy. No purchase contract is formed with Mahali, and adding an item to a Mahali cart does not reserve inventory or guarantee a price.
6. Merchant transactions and disputes
Your purchase is governed by the merchant's terms, privacy policy, shipping policy, returns policy, and applicable Egyptian consumer law. Direct order questions, cancellations, delivery issues, product defects, returns, refunds, payment disputes, and warranty claims to the merchant that accepted the order.
Mahali may help identify the relevant merchant or pass on a concern but is not required to resolve a transaction between you and a merchant. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable rights you may have under Egypt's Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 or other applicable law.
7. Search images and other submissions
If you upload an image for visual search, you confirm that you have the right to use and submit it for that purpose and that it does not violate another person's privacy, intellectual property, or other rights. Do not upload identity documents, payment cards, sensitive personal data, illegal material, or images you are not authorized to use.
You grant Mahali and its service providers a limited, non-exclusive right to process the image only as needed to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the requested visual search.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Mahali unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm another person;
- interfere with security, authentication, availability, or normal operation of Mahali;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, copy, or systematically extract Mahali or merchant catalog data except as permitted by law or our written authorization;
- use bots, automated requests, or other methods that impose an unreasonable load or bypass rate limits or access controls;
- reverse engineer, probe, or attempt unauthorized access to Mahali, an account, or connected systems;
- upload malicious code or content that infringes privacy, intellectual property, or other rights; or
- misrepresent an affiliation with Mahali or a merchant, or use Mahali to send unsolicited marketing.
9. Intellectual property
Mahali and its original software, interface, branding, designs, organization, and content are owned by or licensed to Mahali and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, Mahali gives you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the service for lawful shopping discovery.
Merchant names, logos, product images, descriptions, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on Mahali does not transfer ownership to Mahali or to you.
10. Personalization and commercial placement
Mahali may rank and recommend products or stores using your search, activity, saved items, inferred interests, availability, relevance, curation, and other quality signals.
Mahali currently does not charge shoppers to use its core discovery service and has no active monetization program. We may later introduce advertising, sponsored placement, referral or affiliate arrangements, merchant services, subscriptions, or paid features. Any sponsored or paid placement will be identified where required. We will disclose the applicable price and terms before charging you, and we will not impose retroactive charges for previously free use.
11. Third-party services
Mahali depends on and links to services operated by merchants, Shopify, Google, Microsoft, and others. We do not control their services, content, security, availability, or policies. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms. A link or catalog result does not by itself mean Mahali endorses every product, statement, or practice of that third party.
12. Availability and changes
We may add, modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of Mahali, including brands, products, account features, or free features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, providers, or service integrity.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Mahali at any time and may request account deletion by emailing team@mahali.app. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, abused the service, or if suspension is required to protect Mahali, users, merchants, or providers. Where practical and lawful, we will provide notice.
14. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mahali is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, merchant eligibility, product quality, safety, legality, authenticity, availability, pricing, delivery, fitness for a particular purpose, or results of using Mahali. We do not guarantee that defects will always be corrected or that the service will be free from harmful components.
These disclaimers do not exclude any warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mahali and its directors, officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses, loss of profits or data, or losses arising from a merchant transaction, product, delivery, return, payment, third-party service, or unauthorized account use.
Where liability cannot be excluded, Mahali's aggregate liability arising from the free service will be limited to EGP 1,000, unless a higher amount is required by non-waivable law. This section does not limit liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that Egyptian law does not permit us to limit.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Before filing a claim, you and Mahali agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute by contacting the other party. If it cannot be resolved, the competent courts of Egypt will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer forum or right that applies to you.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Mahali, our business, providers, or law. We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate. Changes apply prospectively. If you continue to use Mahali after updated Terms take effect, you accept them, except where law requires a different form of consent.
18. General terms and contact
If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; Mahali may transfer them as part of a lawful business reorganization or transfer.
Questions, complaints, and legal notices may be sent to team@mahali.app or Mahali, 83A Wadi El Nakheel, Giza, Egypt.
